I am a musician, photographer, and 3D artist in Houston, Texas. A classically trained flutist, I attended the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where I studied with the master flute teacher Robert Cavally. I later graduated from North Texas State University with a degree in music. Since 1997, I have performed with Texas Jazz Central (a big band), with Fling (a flute-bass jazz duo), and with the World Music Ensemble (a chamber-music quintet) in Houston. Click here to hear me playing "All the Things You Are" with Texas Jazz Central.
I have studied photography with Raul Touzon and David Alan Harvey under the auspices of Santa Fe Workshops and National Geographic. I am currently a mentoree of Arthur Meyerson, of Santa Fe Workshops. The photos shown here were taken with a Canon EOS 40D camera. My solo photo exhibit, Animal Spirits, is on permanent display at the Texas Medical Center.
In addition, I create 3D artworks in Bryce, Poser, and XenoDream, as well as fractal art made with UltraFractal software. My fractals are included in the book Illuminations, published by Celestial Arts in 2006. Some of my other fractal images have been used for brochures and program covers. I designed and created this website, as well as the website for Texas Jazz Central.
In 2008, I lost the vision in my right eye when my retina detached multiple times. Despite 5 operations over a 10-month period, my right eye remains almost completely blind. Thanks to my good left eye, however, I have gradually been able to resume all my normal activities. In early 2009, I embarked on a mentorship arrangement with renowned Houston photographer Arthur Meyerson, whose advice and encouragement continue to be a godsend.
